The officials stressed the need to identify potential bottlenecks in advance and address them promptly to maintain the pace of construction.

Vijayawada: Polavaram Project Authority (PPA) chief executive officer Sanjeev Vohra has called for expediting various components of the Polavaram project to ensure its completion within the stipulated time.
A team of PPA officials led by Vohra inspected the progress of works at the project site on Wednesday, particularly the execution of the earth-cum-rock-fill dam (ECRF) Gap-1 and Gap-2.
They reviewed the ongoing works and called for better coordination between the Water Resources Department and executing agencies for their timely completion.
The officials sought details of the works under way, their status and the proposed works. They stressed the need to identify potential bottlenecks in advance and address them promptly to maintain the pace of construction.
PPA member secretary Raghuram, AP Water Resources engineer-in-chief K. Narasimha Murthy and superintending engineer P. Ramachandra Rao were among those present.
Separately, a team of experts from the Central Soil and Materials Research Station — Harendra Prakash, Deepamudra Nayak and scientist Gaurav Pandey — inspected the project site and the ongoing works at ECRF Gap-1 and Gap-2. They examined the quality and moisture content of soil and rock at the site.
The team will continue its inspection and conduct further tests on soil and rock on Thursday.
