Vijayawada: The Indrakeeladri (Durga Temple) ghat road will remain closed for a week from September 22 to facilitate repair works and arrangements for the Dasara festivities.

Temple executive officer V.K. Seena Naik said pilgrims arriving from Hyderabad should park their vehicles at Punnami Ghat and use the free bus service arranged by the temple.
Those arriving from Visakhapatnam, Chennai and other regions towards One Town should park at the holding area near Seethammavari Paadalu and use the free transport facility to reach the temple.
The parking areas will be connected by continuous bus services to minimise inconvenience to devotees.
At a meeting with Trust Board chairman, members and temple staff, the EO explained decisions taken at a high-level review chaired by the Collector and attended by senior officials from the police, endowments and municipal departments.
Key measures include AI-based queue management, enhanced security, smart laddu vending machines, traffic regulation and streamlined parking facilities.
The EO said protocol visits would be strictly regulated and ordinary devotees given priority.
“We cannot inconvenience lakhs of pilgrims for the sake of a few hundred,” he said, urging staff and trustees to cooperate with the arrangements.
Trust Board chairman Borra Radhakrishna (Gandhi), members, temple officials and staff expressed their support for the arrangements for the Sharannavaratri celebrations.
