Vijayawada GGH Gets Advanced 4K 3D Laparoscopic System
Vijayawada GGH has introduced a ₹2.3-crore 4K 3D laparoscopic system to strengthen minimally invasive surgery and advanced surgical training.
The Government General Hospital (GGH), Vijayawada, has introduced a state-of-the-art 4K 3D Carl Storz laparoscopic system worth around ₹2.3 crore, strengthening its minimal access surgery facilities.
The system was inaugurated on September 30 at the Main General Surgery Operation Theatre Complex under the General Surgery department of Government Siddhartha Medical College. Government Siddhartha Medical College principal and ADME Dr A. Edukondala Rao, GGH superintendent and ADME Dr G. Raghunandan and General Surgery department head and ADME Dr G. Padmasri attended the programme.
The advanced 4K/3D imaging system provides high-resolution images, enabling surgeons to identify tissues and minute anatomical structures more clearly during minimally invasive procedures.
The IMAGE1 S™ 4U RUBINA® camera combines 4K and 3D imaging with near-infrared fluorescence technology, allowing real-time viewing of Indocyanine Green (ICG) fluorescence. OPAL1® technology helps identify lymphatic pathways and sentinel lymph nodes without radioactive techniques, particularly in breast and certain gynaecological cancers.
Emergency laparoscopic surgery services will also be available from September 30. Doctors said minimally invasive procedures, where clinically appropriate, could help patients recover faster and leave hospital sooner.
