Vijayawada: 65,700 Candidates In AP to Appear For NEET-UG On Sunday

We have made all the requisite arrangements to conduct the NEET-UG without any untoward incidents: Report

Vijayawada: As many as 65,700 candidates are expected to appear for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination on Sunday, June 21, at 185 centres in 27 cities of Andhra Pradesh.

The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET exam, has made elaborate arrangements for the re-exam, involving both the central and state governments. This is to ensure that the test is conducted in a foolproof manner, particularly in the backdrop of the paper leak and cancellation of the NEET test held on May 3.

For the first time, central forces like CISF, along with state police, are being deployed at the examination centres. The question papers will be airlifted and handed over to custodians under strict vigil on the re-exam day.

Vehicles transporting question papers from the custodians to the exam centres are being fixed with GPS trackers, so that their movement all along from the starting point until reaching the exam centres are tracked to avoid any untoward incidents.

The candidates will get an extra 15 minutes of time for their exam. This follows complaints that the start of the exam is generally delayed by a few minutes, as invigilators continue to append their signatures on the OMR answer sheets as part of a mandatory exercise.

As a result, the re-examination time has been fixed from 2:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. However, for persons with benchmark disabilities, the examination time will be extended up to 6:20 p.m.

NTA authorities have advised candidates to try to reach their designated exam centres much earlier than the scheduled time, so that in case of any trouble during their travel, they will be able to reach the exam centres well in-time.

A senior official from NTA said, “We have made all the requisite arrangements to conduct the NEET-UG without any untoward incidents. Candidates are advised not to panic, assuming that the exam will be difficult or easy. They should remain mentally relaxed to write the exam well. They should read the instructions on their admit card without fail and follow them scrupulously.”
