Video Of Erriswamy Beside Biker’s Body Goes Viral
Police confirm footage is old and part of bus fire investigation evidence: Reports

KURNOOL: A video showing a man named C. Erriswamy sitting beside the body of biker B. Sivasankar, who died in an accident on October 24 — the same day as the horrific bus fire that claimed 19 lives near Chinna Tekuru — has surfaced on social media. Police have clarified that the video is old and was found during the ongoing investigation into the bus tragedy.
According to the police, the deceased biker Sivasankar and his friend Erriswamy had consumed alcohol earlier that night and later visited a petrol bunk near Chinna Tekuru. Sivasankar, who was riding the motorcycle in an inebriated condition and without headlights, lost control and hit a road divider around 2.30 a.m., dying instantly due to the impact.
Erriswamy, who was riding pillion, dragged Sivasankar’s body to the left side of the road and attempted to wake him up. The motorcycle, however, remained near the divider on the right side of the road. Several vehicles passed the spot without stopping. Moments later, a Vemuri Kaveri Travels bus rammed into the bike and caught fire, resulting in the tragic accident in which 19 passengers were charred to death.
Initially, police suspected that the bus had hit the motorcycle from behind, causing Sivasankar’s death. However, further investigation and analysis of multiple videos revealed a different sequence of events. Officials traced three crucial video clips — one from a liquor shop, another from a petrol bunk, and a third from the accident spot.
The third video, captured by front dask camera from a bus passing the site, showed Erriswamy sitting beside Sivasankar’s body. Based on this evidence, police identified and took Erriswamy into custody for questioning. He told the media that he panicked after realising Sivasankar was dead and, fearing the consequences, did not alert the authorities or the victim’s family.
Investigating officer and Pathikonda DSP Venkataramaiah confirmed that the viral video was old and had been recovered as part of the evidence collected during the probe. He said the footage provided crucial information that helped police reconstruct the chain of events leading to the fatal bus fire accident.
