Venezuela Acting President Delcy Rodríguez, a Devotee of Baba, Visited Puttaparthi Thrice
According to the trust’s official YouTube channel, Rodríguez spoke about the peace and spiritual calm she experienced at the ashram.
Anantapur: Delcy Eloina Rodríguez, the current acting President of Venezuela, has visited Prasanthi Nilayam twice and had darshan at the Sri Saty Saibaba Mahasamadhi. Delcy was then the vice president of Venezuela.
Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust sources said, “Rodríguez visited Prasanthi Nilayam on August 5, 2023. She was in India as part of a Venezuelan delegation attending the G20 Summit. The visit was personal, undertaken to pay respects to Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The delegation was in India to strengthen the diplomatic and economic ties between India and Venezuela.”
During her visit on October 26, 2024, Rodríguez, then the executive vice president of Venezuela, travelled to Prasanthi Nilayam to offer her obeisance to Sri Sathya Sai Baba. She was accompanied by Capaya Rodríguez Gonzalez, Venezuela’s ambassador to India.
Pictures show the Venezuelan leader being received by RJ Rathnakar, managing trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai central trust, who took her for darshan of the Baba Mahasamadhi at the Sai Kulwanth Hall. At the sanctum sanctorum, she sat on the floor and offered prayers.
