Vegesna Foundation develops drinking water ponds at Rs 35 crore

The foundation also built additional classrooms and a compound wall to the Mandal Parishad School at Jagannadhapuram in West Godavari district

KAKINADA: The Vegesna Foundation has developed drinking water ponds at a cost of Rs 20 crores at Ganapavaram and at Rs 15 crore at Jagannadhapuram and China Ramachandrapuram villages. It has also established an RO Water Plant.

The foundation also built additional classrooms and a compound wall to the Mandal Parishad School at Jagannadhapuram in West Godavari district.

Union mines minister and industries B Srinivasa Varma, AP deputy speaker Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju, water resources minister Nimmala Ramanaidu, Unguturu MLA Dharma Raju and others inaugurated the development programmes on Friday.

They praised foundation chairman Ananta Koti Raju and also Bala Saraswathi and Srivani for their help to the society. Srinivasa Varma said chief minister Chandrababu Naidu encouraged development activities under P4

mode, which would increase the responsibility of the people in the society vis-à-vis the state’s development.He promised efforts to bring in a matching grant to the Vegesna Foundation funds for its development activities.

The people of these villages felicitated the foundation members at Pippara village. Chairman Ananta Koti Raju said the foundation was established in 2002 and took up social activities with a fund of`300 crore including construction of the Vengamamba Annadana Satram at a cost of `25 crore in Tirumala and `6 crore per annum for the maintenance of drinking water facility in Tirumala Tirupati, a hospital at Dwaraka Tirumala and other activities like Annavaram, Simhachalam, Yadadri and other pilgrim places.
