Vijayawada: Vangaveeti Radhakrishna on Friday paid rich tributes to his late father, Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga, by garlanding his statue on the occasion of the 37th death anniversary here.
Speaking on the occasion, Radhakrishna described Mohana Ranga as a leader admired by people cutting across regional and caste lines. He said several service-oriented programmes were being organised across the State to mark the anniversary.
Stating that his father continued to inspire the younger generation, Radhakrishna said Mohana Ranga may not be physically present but would remain alive in the hearts of the people. He pledged to uphold and fulfil his father’s ideals.
Meanwhile, Mohana Ranga’s daughter, Vangaveeti Asha Kiran, also paid tributes by garlanding his statue at Raghava Park in the city. She vowed to continue fighting for the oppressed and said Mohana Ranga’s supporters belonged to all castes and religions.
