Vande Bharat Express To Halt At Hindupur
Hyderabad–Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express earlier did not stop at Hindupur, with halts limited to Anantapur, Dharmavaram and Puttaparthi stations.

ANANTAPUR: Union minister of state for railways Veeranna Somanna on Saturday flagged off the Vande Bharat Express at Hindupur railway station in Sri Sathya Sai district, marking the introduction of a regular halt for the premium train at the station.
The Hyderabad–Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express earlier did not stop at Hindupur, with halts limited to Anantapur, Dharmavaram and Puttaparthi stations. Following sustained representations from MPs and local leaders seeking a stop at Hindupur, the Railway authorities agreed to include the station in the train’s schedule.
Somanna flagged off the train in the presence of Hindupur MP B.K. Parthasarathi and Madakasira TD in-charge G. Thippeswamy.
Fire scare averted in RTC bus at PNBS
Vijayawada: A major fire mishap involving an RTC bus was averted at the Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) here on Saturday afternoon, ensuring the safety of passengers.
According to APSRTC, a Guntur–Vijayawada non-stop service arrived at platforms 55 and 56 when smoke began emanating from the rear engine as passengers were alighting. A fire soon broke out, suspected to be due to an electrical short circuit.
RTC head constable T.R.C. Reddy of the Gannavaram depot intervened promptly and used a fire extinguisher to douse the flames, preventing any injury to passengers or damage to property.
APSRTC vice-chairperson and managing director Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao appreciated the timely and responsible action of the RTC staff for averting a major mishap.
