Vajpayee’s Personality An Inspiration, Says MP Chief Minister

Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav paid rich tributes to Vajpayee, saying the ex-PM enhanced the living standards of the people and promoted economic growth.

Vijayawada: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said the personality of former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee is a source of inspiration and motivation for all.

Addressing a large gathering after unveiling a statue of the former prime minister at Dharmavaram in Sri Sathya Sai district and kick-starting the Atal-Modi Suparipalana Yatra, Yadav said Vajpayee rose to the level of PM with hard work and perseverance from an ordinary family of a school teacher. “Vajpayee went to jail in Kashmir and played a key role in many movements of his time.”

Yadav said, “I was attracted by Vajpayee’s personality and came forward to sail along with him in public life.”

Turning his attention to AP politics, the MP chief minister said that Andhra Pradesh is currently witnessing good governance.

He recalled ex-PM Vajpayee’s good works like providing employment in rural areas through the food-for-work scheme, stopping farmers’ suicides by giving them credit cards, laying roads in villages and building national highways under the Sadak Yojana and displaying the power of India to the global community through nuclear tests.

State BJP chief P.V.N. Madhav noted that Vajpayee was also involved in the Freedom struggle. Madhav announced the schedule of the Atal-Modi Suparipalana Yatra through Anantapur, Kurnool, Machilipatnam, Srikakulam, Eluru and some other districts on Friday. He said a Vajpayee Smruthi Vanam would be built in Amaravati.
