Hyderabad: Union minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, speaking at the BJP's 'Atal–Modi Suparipalana Yatra' rally in Bhimavaram, West Godavari district, lauded former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a towering figure who ushered in a new era in Indian politics. Rammohan Naidu highlighted Vajpayee's resolve during the nuclear tests, noting that he "stood firm and asserted India's right to make independent decisions," despite warnings from global powers about sanctions.
He also pointed to Vajpayee’s focus on regional development, citing the establishment of a separate ministry to bring the northeastern states on par with the rest of the country. Furthermore, he credited Vajpayee with "laying the foundation for India's space programmes like Chandrayaan."
Recalling the close bond between Vajpayee and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Rammohan Naidu noted their crucial collaborative decisions in road infrastructure and information technology.
