Bhogapuram Will Transform AP Like Shamshabad Did for Telangana: Naidu

Naidu said, "It was our government that laid the foundation for the Bhogapuram Airport, and it is our government that has now completed and inaugurated the project."

Bhogapuram: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said the Bhogapuram Airport would transform the future of North Andhra, just as the Shamshabad Airport changed the development trajectory of Telangana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rs 5,700-crore Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district.

Addressing a public meeting after the inauguration, Naidu said, "It was our government that laid the foundation for the Bhogapuram Airport, and it is our government that has now completed and inaugurated the project."

Highlighting the government's focus on the development of North Andhra, Naidu said that over the past two years, the state had attracted investments worth Rs 6.13 lakh crore through 189 projects in the region. He said these projects are expected to generate employment for 5.57 lakh people once they are completed.

Naidu reaffirmed his government's commitment to completing the Polavaram Irrigation Project by 2027 and dedicating it to the nation through Prime Minister Modi. He also said the first phase of the Amaravati capital city would be completed by 2028.

Naidu said the Bhogapuram Airport would offer travellers a unique flying experience, with the sea on one side and lush green hills on the other. He expressed confidence that the airport would emerge as a major gateway to North Andhra and play a key role in accelerating the region's economic growth and development.
