Uttarakhand CM Unveils Vajpayee Statue at Renigunta

Tirupati: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday unveiled a statue of former prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Marrigunta Circle in Renigunta as part of the Atal–Modi Suparipalana Yatra.
Addressing the gathering, Dhami said it was a privilege for him, coming from Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, to unveil the statue of Vajpayee. He recalled his personal interactions with the former prime Minister and spoke about the progress achieved in various sectors during Vajpayee’s tenure, including infrastructure, connectivity and governance.
State BJP president P.V.N. Madhav said Vajpayee’s leadership brought lasting changes to the country. Speaking on the occasion of Vajpayee’s birth centenary, he said the former prime Minister played a key role in strengthening national infrastructure through initiatives such as the Golden Quadrilateral national highways project.
He also referred to the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, which connected villages with towns and improved access to education, healthcare and employment opportunities. Madhav added that Vajpayee contributed significantly to improving irrigation and drinking water facilities across the country. He noted that Vajpayee headed the first non-Congress NDA government to complete a full term, successfully bringing together 27 political parties under a single coalition.
BJP district president Samanchi Srinivas said the junction has been officially named Atal Bihari Vajpayee Circle. He said the location was chosen keeping in view Vajpayee’s role in developing the national highway network and added that the statue would serve as a reminder of Vajpayee’s contribution to travellers passing through the area.
Earlier in the day, Dhami unveiled another statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Madanapalle and addressed a public meeting there. Minister Y. Satya Kumar Yadav, Srikalahasti mla B. Sudhir Reddy, BJP leaders Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Kola Anand, V. Varaprasad and others were present.
