Two More Arrested in Mulakalacheruvu Fake Liquor Racket

Father-son duo held in Bengaluru for supplying spirit to main accused; police term it a major breakthrough

Tirupati: Annamayya district police on Sunday arrested two persons in connection with the Mulakalacheruvu fake liquor case. The accused, identified as Balaji (A15) and his son Sudarshan (A20), were apprehended in Bengaluru and produced before the Thamballapalle court. Following the court’s orders, they were remanded to the Madanapalle sub-jail.

According to police sources, the duo had supplied rectified spirit to the main accused, Addepalli Janardhan Rao (A1), which was used in the manufacture of counterfeit liquor. They were also involved in supporting the network’s operations by arranging transportation and supplying raw materials for bottling and distribution.
Several persons have already been arrested and questioned in connection with the case, which exposed a wide network of fake liquor manufacturing and distribution across multiple districts.
Police officials said that the arrest of Balaji and Sudarshan marks a significant breakthrough in tracing the supply chain and understanding the operational network behind the racket.
“We are focusing on identifying suppliers, distributors, and others associated with the illegal liquor trade. Teams are collecting evidence to ensure that all those involved in the production and circulation of counterfeit liquor are brought to justice,” an investigating officer said.
