Two Get Seven-Year Jail Term In Murder Case

KADAPA: A district court in Kadapa has sentenced two men to seven years in prison for their involvement in a 2023 murder within Siddavatam police station limits in YSR Kadapa district.
District and Sessions Judge Dr C. Yamini, who heard SC No. 57/2024, found P. Manindra (A2) and P. Nagendra (A3) guilty under Section 302 read with Section 34 of the IPC. The court acquitted P. Srinivasulu (A1), as the prosecution failed to establish his guilt.
According to the prosecution, a dispute broke out on March 12, 2023, between Bheemishetty Lakshmi Narasimhulu, 29, of Upparapalli village, and Srinivasulu over payment for cutting teak trees. Though Rs 600 had been agreed as wages, Srinivasulu allegedly demanded an additional `300.
Later, Srinivasulu, along with his sons Manindra and Nagendra, allegedly went to Narasimhulu’s house and attacked him. He sustained severe injuries and was shifted to Kadapa RIMS, where doctors declared him dead.
Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, Bheemishetty Adi Lakshumma, the then Siddavatam SI P. Tulasi Nagaprasad registered a case. Then Vontimitta Circle Inspector R. Purushotham Raju investigated the case, arrested the accused and filed a chargesheet.
Special Public Prosecutor N. Khadirun represented the prosecution. Based on the evidence and arguments, the court convicted A2 and A3 and sentenced them to seven years’ imprisonment.
