A tragic road accident on Saturday morning claimed two lives, including a child, and left 15 people injured when a private bus collided with a parked truck.
Visakhapatnam: A tragic road accident on Saturday morning claimed two lives, including a child, and left 15 people injured when a private bus collided with a parked truck. The crash occurred on the NH-16 highway near Madhupada in Gajapathinagaram mandal of Vizianagaram district.
According to the police, the private travel bus with around 40 passengers headed to Vizag city from Odisha was involved in the accident. The driver of the bus lost control over the wheel and hit the stationary truck from behind.
Two persons died on the spot, and five others were severely injured in the incident. The injured persons were stuck in the bus for more than one hour as they had no scope to get out of the bus.
The Vizianagaram district police rushed to the spot and pulled out passengers struck in the bus. Later, those with severe injuries were referred to Vizianagaram hospital.
