Tuda Begins DPR Survey for Settipalli Model Township

TIRUPATI: The Tirupati Urban Development Authority (Tuda) has begun the process of preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a proposed model township over 223.63 acres at Settipalli as part of the government’s planned expansion of Tirupati.
Hyderabad-based NCPE Pvt. Ltd. on Monday commenced drone and geo-satellite surveys for preparation of the DPR. Based on the report, Tuda will submit the project proposal to the state government for approval before taking up development works.
Tuda chairman C. Divakar Reddy said the proposed township would have concrete internal roads, underground drainage, a sewage treatment plant, drinking water supply networks and a dedicated power substation. Parks, community spaces, public amenities and a Govinda Dhamam for residents and visitors are also planned.
A 100-foot master plan road will be laid from Mangalam Road to Settipalli to improve connectivity. The road will be provided with street lighting, greenery and walking tracks on both sides.

He said the layout has been designed to provide essential civic amenities from the outset to avoid future traffic congestion, drainage issues and unplanned development. “Early planning would help avoid traffic bottlenecks, drainage problems and unplanned construction, and create better living conditions for beneficiaries and future residents through improved public services and sustainable infrastructure,” he said.
The Tuad chairman said the dedicated power substation would ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, while the planned drinking water distribution network would meet future demand. The township would be developed with an integrated layout incorporating roads, utilities and public spaces from the initial stage.
He said the 100-foot road would serve as the main access corridor between Mangalam Road and Settipalli. Following government approval, Tuda will take up the project in phases and complete it at the earliest.
