Tirupati: On the lines of serving free and quality meals at Tirumala temple, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is set to introduce Annaprasadam distribution at the historic Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple in Vontimitta to enhance pilgrim services.

For this, TTD executive officer J. Syamala Rao, along with JEO V. Veerabrahmam, held a meeting with officials on Monday at the TTD administrative building in Tirupati. The EO directed concerned departments to coordinate and make arrangements to begin full-scale Annaprasadam service by August.

The EO stressed the importance of implementing Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's vision, which he presented during the Kalyanotsavam celebrations on April 11, without any delays. Temporary German sheds have already been set up to facilitate initial operations and officials were asked to ensure the required infrastructure, cooking equipment and staff are in place.

Departments of engineering and Annaprasadam have been specifically tasked with streamlining coordination to ensure seamless implementation. The officials were instructed to ensure that all facilities are in place by August to facilitate regular food distribution to pilgrims.
