TTD to Enhance Devotee Experience, Strengthen Infrastructure

The board approved the implementation of anti-drone technology to safeguard the Tirumala temple premises. Recognising the growth in the number of devotees at Vontimitta, the board approved the enhancement of Annaprasadam (free meal) services in the temple premises.

Nellore: The TTD Board has passed a resolution to make alternative arrangements subsequent to transfer of non-Hindu employees working in TTD.

During its meeting on Tuesday, the board approved a plan for voluntary retirement of such staff, which it felt would ensure alignment of the religious and spiritual values being upheld at the temple. It decided to introduce anti-drone technology and improve the green cover in Tirumala from the present 68.14 to 80 per cent as per advice from chief minister Chandrababu Naidu.

The board meeting held at Annamayya Bhavan on Tuesday was chaired by its chairman BR Naidu in the presence of TTD executive officer Syamala Rao.

A decision was also to take legal action against the crew of film Devils Double Next Level, for remixing the Govinda Namavali and “hurting” the sentiments of the devotees. The film was promoted by Tamil actor Santhanam.

Major resolutions passed at the meeting included implementation of the afforestation project by the forest department, with a phased financial commitment from TTD totaling Rs.4 crore – of which Rs.1.74 crore would be released in the 2025–26 fiscal and Rs.1.13 crore each in the 2026–27 and 2027–28.

The board has decided to invite technical and financial proposals from architects to prepare a comprehensive master plan for development of prominent temples including the Tiruchanoor, Amaravati, Narayanavanam, Kapilatheertham, Nagalapuram and Vontimitta.

All rest houses in Tirumala have been renamed after deities, except two where donors have yet to give their proposals. The board would rename these two on its own. For the Sainik Niwas (Indian Army) rest house, negotiations will be held to explore a renaming option.

The board approved a proposal to fix licence fees for Big Canteens and Janatha Canteens. It has also been decided to partner with reputed institutions to provide high-quality, hygienic food to devotees.

Given the growing footfall in the Akashaganga and Papavinasanam pilgrimage zones, the board decided to formulate a comprehensive plan to improve the spiritual ambiance, environmental protection and infrastructure facilities in these areas.

In a significant boost to public healthcare, the board approved an additional `71 crore per year to SVIMS, over and above the current `60 crore, to support its services to the poor and needy patients. SVIMS is a major healthcare provider in the Rayalaseema region.

To strengthen healthcare delivery, the board resolved to fill vacant posts of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff at SVIMS. It also approved the completion of under-construction buildings, ensuring better facilities for patients.

Inspired by the success of the Srivari Seva voluntary service, the board decided to introduce the Srivari Vaidya Seva, encouraging medical professionals to offer voluntary services to the needy pilgrims.
