Tirupati: TTD has officially taken possession of over 10 acres of land in Assam for the construction of a Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Guwahati. TTD chairman BR Naidu said the Assam government has allotted 10.3 acres of land, located in Sonapur Circle of Kamrup district, for the temple.
"TTD has officially taken possession of 10.33 acres of land allotted by the Assam Government for the construction of a Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Guwahati," said an official press release from the temple body on Tuesday.
The land allotment is in line with TTD's initiative to establish Srivari temples in state capitals across the country. BR Naidu and senior officials had held discussions with the Assam government representatives regarding the project.
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, and the TTD Trust Board also extended their support through official communications.
On Tuesday, the Assam Metropolitan Deputy Commissioner handed over the land possession certificate to TTD. BR Naidu said Bhoomi Puja for the temple construction will be performed shortly.
