TTD Sanctions Rs 18 Crore for Siddheswara Swamy Temple Restoration in Talakona
TTD engineers and temple architects recently inspected the site and proposed a renovation plan worth Rs 18 crore. The proposed works include restoration of the Raja Gopuram, Sanctum Sanctorum, Dhwajasthambham, mandapams, and other associated structures.

Tirupati: The historic Siddheswara Swamy temple, nestled in the forested Talakona region of Yerravaripalem mandal, is set for a major renovation with Rs 18 crore sanctioned by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for restoration and development works.
Famed for its spiritual significance and tranquil surroundings, the temple attracts large numbers of devotees and tourists—especially during Maha Shivaratri, Karthika Masam, and New Year’s Day. Pilgrims often visit the nearby Talakona waterfalls to take a holy dip before offering prayers at the shrine.
Due to the steady rise in visitors, TTD has undertaken plans to modernise the temple infrastructure. Although TTD guest houses are operational in the region, the temple premises have needed focused restoration to accommodate growing footfall.
TTD engineers and temple architects recently inspected the site and proposed a renovation plan worth Rs 18 crore. The proposed works include restoration of the Raja Gopuram, Sanctum Sanctorum, Dhwajasthambham, mandapams, and other associated structures.
The TTD Board approved the project in its meeting held on March 24. Following this, TTD executive officer J. Syamala Rao requested the state government’s permission to float e-tenders for the first phase of works worth Rs 2 crore. The government granted the necessary administrative sanctions, and V. Vinay Chand, Secretary to the Government (Endowments Department), issued orders for the release of funds and tendering on Wednesday.
A senior temple official stated, “The Siddheswara temple holds religious and cultural importance in this region. This renovation aims to enhance facilities for devotees while preserving the temple’s heritage. The works will be executed in a phased manner without disturbing the spiritual ambience of the area.”
With approvals in place, the restoration works are set to commence shortly.
