TTD Eases Tirumala Accommodation Allotment
TTD has introduced a new accommodation system in Tirumala, enabling pilgrims to collect room keys from 18 sub-enquiry offices to reduce congestion at the CRO.
Pilgrims visiting Tirumala will no longer have to wait at the Central Reception Office (CRO) for room allotment, with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) introducing a streamlined accommodation system through 18 sub-enquiry offices across the hill town.
TTD said the new system aims to reduce congestion at the CRO and speed up the room allotment process. While registration will continue at the CRO, pilgrims will collect their room keys from designated sub-enquiry offices after receiving their allotment details.
Registration at the CRO will commence at 5 am every day and continue as long as rooms are available. Pilgrims must submit their Aadhaar card, or a photocopy, along with their mobile number. Registration will be completed through a facial recognition system, after which pilgrims can opt for rooms in the `50, `100 or `1,000 categories.
After registration, pilgrims will receive an acknowledgement slip. Once the registration number is displayed at the CRO, an SMS containing the room details will be sent within 15 minutes. Those who do not receive the message can scan the acknowledgement slip at a kiosk to view the allotment details. Pilgrims must then visit the allotted sub-enquiry office, pay the room tariff through UPI, credit card or debit card, and collect the room key.
Under the revised guidelines, the applicant must be at least 21 years old and only one member from each family should register for accommodation. Those allotted a room will not be eligible for another allotment for the next 30 days. Rooms will not be allotted to single individuals or unmarried persons.
TTD said rooms will be allotted for 24 hours. The tariff will double if the stay exceeds 24 hours and increase fourfold if it extends beyond 48 hours. Pilgrims have also been advised to avoid plastic water bottles by using the water jugs and glasses provided in the rooms, segregate wet and dry waste, safeguard their belongings and vacate the room personally to claim a refund of the caution deposit. Transferring an allotted room to another person is strictly prohibited and will attract stringent action.
