TTD Children’s Heart Centre Logs 4,950 Surgeries

EO seeks early completion of new hospital block

NELLORE: With an impressive record of 4,950 cardiac surgeries and 23 heart transplants, the Sri Padmavathi Children’s Heart Centre has emerged as a major lifeline for children suffering from congenital heart diseases.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) executive officer Anil Kumar Singhal on Thursday directed officials to complete the new Sri Padmavathi Children’s Hospital building near Alipiri at the earliest.

During an inspection of the Heart Centre and the under-construction G+6 hospital block, the EO instructed the engineering wing to make advance arrangements for medical equipment, furniture, electrical works and other infrastructure to ensure the facility becomes fully operational immediately after completion.

Doctors informed him that the sixth floor would house operation theatres, while the seventh floor would function as a helipad. Stressing the importance of hygiene and patient comfort, the EO also suggested installing images of deities to instil confidence among patients and attendants.

Earlier, Singhal reviewed services being provided under the NTR Vaidya Seva and SV Pranadana Trust schemes, inspected the pharmacy, and interacted with patients and their attendants, who expressed satisfaction over the quality of free medical services and medicines.

Senior medical and engineering officials were present during the inspection.
