TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board would meet in Tirumala on Tuesday with a major focus on easing pilgrim congestion through the proposed construction of a third Vaikuntam Queue Complex (VQC-III).
The trust board would also deliberate on adopting artificial intelligence-based solutions to streamline crowd flow and reduce darshan waiting times.
According to sources, the VQC-III proposal includes a detailed needs assessment and documentation plan aimed at managing the increasing influx of pilgrims and easing crowd pressure during peak seasons.
The board is expected to examine the feasibility of deploying AI tools to further streamline pilgrim movement and improve the overall darshan experience.
“A concept note and presentation prepared by TCS will be placed before the board, showcasing the use of AI-driven systems to reduce darshan waiting time to just two hours by implementing a virtual queue line model”, a senior TTD official said.
The board is also likely to discuss establishing a cyber security cell under the CVSO and may approve hiring an agency to develop an AI-based chatbot for pilgrim services, especially if the project cost exceeds `1 crore.
The trust board would consider the modernisation of the central reception office, the main accommodation hub, along with the Kalyanakatta complex, where devotees offer tonsures as part of their vows. It will also deliberate on improving pedestrian paths by engaging consultants for the renovation of the Alipiri and Srivari Mettu footpaths.
Upgrades to the Alipiri check-point, including enhanced facilities and security features, will also be on the agenda.
The board is expected to take a decision on the demolition of several old and structurally weak cottages and guest houses at Tirumala. A policy proposal may be considered to convert some existing cottages into limited-period booking units to ensure better utilisation during peak periods.
Sources said the board may also clear proposals for setting up premium and budget lounges and approve architectural consultancy for the development of spiritual places like Sila Thoranam and Chakra Theertham.
A new donor cottage policy is also likely to be finalised, while action is expected on resolving the issue of 151 unauthorised hawker licences issued in Tirumala.
