TTD announces grand celebrations for Krishna Janmashtami
TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has unveiled plans for grand celebrations of Sri Krishna Janmashtami on August 27 and 28. The festivities will feature traditional rituals, processions, and cultural events at the revered Srivari temple.
On August 27, the Gokulashtami Asthanam will take place at the Bangaru Vakili Mukha Mandapam inside the temple. From 8 pm to 10 pm, Sri Krishna Swamy will be seated on the Sarva Bhoopala Vahanam at the Mukha Mandapam. Following this, the utsava idols of Sri Ugra Srinivasa and consorts will undergo Ekantha Snapana Tirumanjanam, succeeded by Dwadasharadhana.
The celebrations will continue on August 28 with a golden Tiruchi Vahana Seva. Both Malayappa Swamy and Krishna Swamy will be taken in procession along the mada streets. The highlight of the day will be the grand Utlotsavam fete, featuring the traditional pot-breaking event. Local youth and devotees are expected to participate enthusiastically in this centuries-old custom.
To accommodate these special events, TTD has announced the cancellation of all Arjita Sevas on August 28, including the Sahasra Deepalankara Seva and Arjita Brahmotsavam. TTD officials have urged visitors to plan their pilgrimage accordingly, keeping in mind the special arrangements and potential crowds during the festival days.
