Truck Driver Burnt Alive in Collision on NH-44 Near Penukonda

Rear-end crash between two trucks in Sri Sathya Sai district leaves one dead, cleaner critically injured

Anantapur: A truck driver was burnt alive and another person grievously injured after two trucks collided on National Highway 44 on the outskirts of Penukonda in Sri Sathya Sai district on Monday.

According to Fire Station Officer Venkatesh, a potato-laden truck travelling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru was hit from behind by another truck carrying wheat, triggering a massive fire. The driver of the wheat-laden truck, identified as Kiran (35), died on the spot after being trapped in the flames. The cleaner, Janardhan, sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Fire department personnel rushed to the scene and doused the flames. The injured was shifted to a government hospital in Penukonda for treatment. The deceased, Kiran, hailed from Jami village in Ichoda mandal of Adilabad district.
