Tribal Pregnant Woman Carried On Doli In ASR District
Pangi Domini, a PVTG member from Dokiripadu village, had to be transported manually due to lack of road connectivity and ambulance services: Reports

VISAKHAPATNAM: A tribal woman was carried nearly three kilometres in a makeshift dolus while in intense labour in Alluri Sitarama Raju district on Wednesday, highlighting poor infrastructure.
Pangi Domini, a PVTG member from Dokiripadu village, had to be transported manually due to lack of road connectivity and ambulance services.
Her family carried her on a doli before arranging an auto-rickshaw to take her to Araku Area Hospital.
The incident triggered sharp criticism from local residents, who said a ₹2.5 crore road project sanctioned during the previous YSRC government remains incomplete.
Despite repeated appeals to the NDA coalition government, work has not resumed, leaving villages such as Bodlamamidi, Dokiripadu and Nittamamidi cut off from essential services.
Villagers, including Govardhan, Gollori Narsingarao, Apparao, Daya and Simhachalam, demanded immediate completion of the road, warning that lack of connectivity could continue to endanger lives in tribal areas.
