Traffic Diversions For Independence Day Celebrations In City

Vijayawada:The City Police imposed traffic diversions for the 79th Independence Day celebrations that will be held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium.

Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and other dignitaries would participate in the event.

City police commissioner Rajasekhar Babu said, “To facilitate the arrival of the CM, ministers, and other dignitaries, traffic will be redirected on the major routes from 7am to 5pm on Friday. All vehicles from the control room towards Benz Circle would be redirected via RTC Y Junction, Eluru Road, Swarna Palace, Deepti Centre, Gundala, and Ramavarappadu Ring.

The vehicles entering Bandar Road from Benz Circle, coming into Bandar Road, will be redirected from Benz Circle towards Fakirgudem, Ekkirala Bridge, Netaji Bridge and the Bus Stand. No vehicles will be allowed from Red Circle to RTC Junction and from Shikhamani Centre to Veterinary Junction.

Only invited guests will be allowed from Benz Circle to DCP Bangla Junction (on MG Road) from 7am to 5pm. From 7 am to 5 pm, RTC buses will not be allowed to proceed to Benz Circle from the RTC Y Junction. RTC buses will navigate via Bandar Road and Route 5, and move along Eluru Road to Ramavarappadu Ring before proceeding to Benz Circle.

The AA Pass Holders should enter through Gate 3 (Food Court) and park their vehicles in designated areas. The A1, A2 Pass Holders should enter through Gate 4 and park at the Handball Ground. The B1, B2 Pass Holders and Awardees should enter through Gate 2 and park their vehicles at either the Football Ground or the Armoured Reserve Ground facing the stadium.

The school students and other invitees should enter through Gates 6 and 7 on Water Tank Road. The media personnel would be allowed entry through Gate 2, and must carry a photo accreditation card or ID. The guests are requested to arrive by 8am at the stadium, a police release said.
