Traffic Curbs, Diversions in Tirupati for Garuda Seva
Two-wheelers barred on Tirumala ghat roads from Friday night to Sunday
Tirupati: Tirupati police have imposed traffic restrictions and announced diversions in the city ahead of the Garuda Vahana Seva at Tirumala on September 19, with large numbers of devotees expected to arrive for the annual Brahmotsavams.
Two-wheelers will not be allowed on the Tirupati-Tirumala ghat roads from 9 pm on Friday to 6 am on Sunday. Parking for two-wheelers has been arranged at Balaji Link Bus Stand, Nehru Municipal Ground, SV Medical College Ground and ISKCON Ground. RTC buses will operate from these parking areas to Tirumala.
Four-wheeler parking has been arranged at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Alipiri Link Bus Stand, SV Medical College Ground and SV Engineering College Ground. Tourist buses will be parked at Devalok, Trident and Mango Market on Zoo Park Road. TTD and RTC will arrange transport from the designated parking areas to Tirumala.
Traffic diversions have also been announced for buses entering Tirupati. Buses from Chittoor and Madanapalle will be diverted through Kalluru Cross, RC Puram Junction, Tanapalli Junction and Garuda Flyover towards the RTC bus stand.
Buses from Chennai and Puttur will be diverted through Sindhu Flyover, Tanapalli Junction and Garuda Flyover towards the RTC bus stand. Buses from Kadapa and Srikalahasti will be diverted through Ramana Vilas Junction, Gajulamanyam Circle, Sindhu Flyover, Tanapalli Junction and Garuda Flyover towards the RTC bus stand.
Tirupati SP L. Subba Rayudu advised devotees to use RTC buses and TTD vehicles instead of private vehicles and park only at designated locations. He appealed to motorists and devotees to follow the traffic restrictions and diversions and cooperate with the police.
Special arrangements have been made for the movement of ambulances, fire service vehicles and other emergency vehicles, he added.
