Traffic, Crime Control: NTR District Police Get Drones From DGP
The DGP inaugurated 40 new traffic patrol vehicles with a ceremonial flag-off.

Vijayawada: To boost traffic management and crime control in the NTR district, the district police’s traffic wing has been equipped with drones, more vehicles, batons, and other equipment.
This was part of an initiative launched on Thursday under the aegis of the police commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu in the presence of DGP Harish Gupta. Gupta presented 14 drone cameras, 350 baton lights, and 720 caps to the traffic police.

Harish Gupta emphasized the transformative role of technology in policing. He said the NTR Police Commissionerate has become a benchmark in the country for its technological integration. He commended the efforts of police commissioner Rajasekhar Babu in effectively managing traffic and crime control in Vijayawada by leveraging modern technology.
The DGP noted that the NTR Police Commissionerate is a pioneer in the use of drones in the state. This enhanced service delivery to the public.
He said traffic management in Vijayawada was among the toughest jobs, requiring officers to remain vigilant throughout the day despite challenging weather conditions. He praised the effectiveness of CCTV cameras and drones in significantly reducing crime rates.
City police commissioner Rajasekhar Babu said each police station has been equipped with a drone to identify antisocial activities. This would enhance operational efficiency in traffic control and improve overall law enforcement.
DCPs KGV Saritha, Tirumaleswara Reddy, Maheswar Raju and ABTS Udayarani, Traffic ADC Prasanna Kumar and other police officials and staff members were present.
