Tourists Flock to Nagarjunasagar on Holiday

Nalgonda: A large number of tourists thronged the Nagarjunasagar project on Sunday to witness the spectacular sight of water gushing through 22 lifted crest gates of the dam.

Crowds gathered at both the dam site and the boat station at Nagarjunasagar. In view of the heavy rush, restrictions were imposed on vehicular movement from the Genco Office to the project site.

Many youngsters spent time enjoying the pleasant atmosphere, taking selfies and capturing the breathtaking scene of water cascading through the crest gates. They were also seen enjoying the showers created by the water spray from the gushing flows.

With inflows into the project continuing at 1,45,076 cusecs, about 2,03,215 cusecs of water was being discharged downstream through the 22 opened crest gates.
