Tourism Secretary Inspects Hotels, Resorts In Bhogapuram Airport Area
“It is essential to develop top hotels and resorts since after commissioning, Bhogapuram International Airport might draw a large number of domestic and international tourists to the region,” Ajay Jain stated.
Visakhapatnam:Special principal secretary (Tourism) Ajay Jain, accompanied by Vizianagaram collector B.R. Ambedkar and other officials, inspected the upcoming star hotels Oberoi and Mayfair, apart from resorts near the Bhogapuram International Airport in Vizianagaram district on Friday.
“It is essential to develop top hotels and resorts since after commissioning, Bhogapuram International Airport might draw a large number of domestic and international tourists to the region,” Ajay Jain stated.
He inspected beach resorts to be set up at a cost of ₹100 crore by Sunray-Avani Group at Reddykamcheru in Bhogapuram mandal, construction of a convention centre at Kavulavada and golf course by the same group.
Sunray Group managing director Rajababu explained to the special chief secretary that the convention centre would accommodate 3,000 people and provide employment to 300 people.
The special secretary instructed the district collector to send necessary proposals for allocating 3.6 acres of government land available in the area for the three-star hotel project to be set up by this organization in the Savaravalli area as an annex to the Sunray Resort as part of tourism development.
He observed that the establishment of this project should not only generate revenue for the government but must be useful in many ways by providing tourist facilities at low cost.
Ajay Jain inspected the construction site of the Mayfair Hotel, which is being set up on the Annavaram beach. He spoke to Bhimili RDO Sangeet Madhur about the allotment of land for this five-star hotel, which is being set up at a cost of ₹40 crore. He also inquired about the construction of a road to the hotel.
Subsequently, he visited the five-star hotel being constructed by the Oberoi Group at Annavaram. He inquired from the representatives of the company about the problems being faced during the construction.
Before concluding his tour, the special secretary inspected the construction works at Bhogapuram Airport and spoke to GMR Group CEO Manmoy Roy.
