Officials were directed to complete the e-Crop booking process by the third week of January

TIRUPATI: The state civil supplies department has begun preparations for paddy procurement in Tirupati district for the Kharif 2025–26 season, with the government announcing minimum support prices (MSP) for the crop.
Chairing a review meeting on Friday, district collector Dr S. Venkateswar said paddy cultivation in the district covered 1,30,350 acres, with an estimated output of 5.50 lakh metric tonnes. He assured that the government would procure the entire produce, up to the last grain harvested.
The MSP has been fixed at `2,389 per quintal for Grade-A paddy and `2,369 per quintal for common variety paddy, he said. Officials were directed to complete the e-Crop booking process by the third week of January.
The collector stressed coordinated action among departments to ensure that no farmer is forced to sell paddy below the MSP. He also instructed officials to promptly address procurement-related grievances and create awareness on moisture limits and quality norms.
District in-charge joint collector and Tirupati Municipal Corporation commissioner N. Mourya, district civil supplies officer Srinivasa Raju, district agriculture officer Prasad Rao, and other officials attended the meeting.
