Tirupati Celebrates ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ with Giant Tricolour
The district collector expressed his happiness that the Way Foundation provided the thousand-foot national flag for the rally

TIRUPATI: A massive tricolor rally was held in Tirupati on Tuesday as part of the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign, organised jointly by the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT), the tourism department, and Sri Venkateswara University. The event featured a thousand-foot-long national flag carried by a significant number of students, who marched from the Mahati auditorium to the SV University stadium.
District collector Dr. S. Venkateswar, who participated in the rally, encouraged everyone to take an active role in the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign to foster patriotism among the people. He stated that, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government, Independence Day celebrations are being conducted over two weeks at the village, district, state, and national levels.
Dr. Venkateswar emphasised that such celebrations should go beyond merely displaying the flag and they should inspire feelings of patriotism, civic responsibility, and active youth participation in the country's development.
The district collector expressed his happiness that the Way Foundation provided the thousand-foot national flag for the rally. He highlighted India’s progress as the world’s third-largest economy and urged the youth to work towards making the country the top economy by 2050. The district collector emphasised the importance of dispelling misconceptions about India's growth and contributing to national advancement.
Municipal commissioner Narapurreddy Mourya stated that the national flag was traditionally hoisted only in government offices and institutions; however, efforts are now being made to encourage people to display it at their homes. As part of a two-week programme, citizens who take and upload selfies at designated points will receive certificates. She stressed that patriotism should extend beyond Independence Day, reflecting in everyday actions. Mourya urged all residents to take responsibility for keeping Tirupati clean and to regularly fulfill their civic duties.
