Tirumala’s Divine Story to Reach Global Audiences Through New Documentary Series

TTD’s Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel (SVBC) is assisting the filmmakers with archival footage and production coordination.

Tirupati:Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateswara, would get wide global exposure through a new documentary series that captures its rich traditions and spiritual heritage.

The devotional documentary titled Miracles of Tirumala Tirupati is currently in the works. This marks a new initiative by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams to preserve and share its legacy through a film.

The documentary would first be aired on SVBC and later made available on major OTT platforms such as Discovery+, Disney+ Hotstar, Netflix and Amazon Prime, enabling global audiences to witness the grandeur of Tirumala.

The project, proposed by AVS Studios of Indore, received approval from the TTD trust board headed by chairman BR Naidu. Filming commenced during last month’s annual Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams, one of the temple’s grandest festivals that draws lakhs of devotees to the hill shrine.

As per the plan, the first part would focus on the ten-day Brahmotsavam, highlighting the rituals, vahana processions, temple music etc. The film, running upto 90 minutes, would also explore the spiritual significance that defines Tirumala’s sanctity, blending it with personal experiences and testimonials from devotees.

According to the TTD board’s resolution, the production is being executed entirely on a donation basis. There is no financial burden on the Devasthanam. All rights related to broadcasting, licensing and archiving would however remain with TTD.

The temple administration has extended logistical support to the filmmakers, including accommodation for the crew.

A TTD official said the documentary aligns with the institution’s vision of reaching devotees across the world through new media. “This project is not just about recording rituals. It is an effort to preserve a living tradition and share the spiritual experience of Tirumala with devotees who may never get the chance to visit in person. It will serve both as an archive and as a platform for outreach,” the official said.

TTD’s Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel (SVBC) is assisting the filmmakers with archival footage and production coordination.

Officials said the production house has expressed interest in continuing their collaboration with TTD beyond the current phase of production. “The project may eventually expand into a multi-part series exploring the temple’s ancient history, architecture, and its role in shaping socio-cultural traditions.
