Tirumala Witnessing Unusual Surge In Pilgrims

Authorities strengthened sanitation and health services with deployment of 2,150 personnel to ensure hygiene and drinking water supply. Approximately 3,000 Srivari Sevaks helped distribute food and manage queues.

TIRUPATI: Tirumala has seen an unusual increase in pilgrims over the past week, mainly attributed to the ongoing summer holidays that are in a closing phase. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) said 90,211 devotees had darshan of Lord Venkateswara on Saturday alone.

In response to the rush, TTD scaled up arrangements for distribution of annaprasadam and drinking water across its queue complexes, including the Vaikuntham compartments and Narayanagiri sheds.

Significantly, around 51 lakh devotees have been served meals over the past 24 days at various annaprasadam centres, including the Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba complex. Additionally, about 20 lakh people received beverages and light snacks while waiting in queues.

On Saturday, 93,950 devotees had their meal at the main annaprasadam centre. TTD distributed 2.72 lakh meal packets and 1.17 lakh beverages to devotees in the external queue areas.

Authorities strengthened sanitation and health services with deployment of 2,150 personnel to ensure hygiene and drinking water supply. Approximately 3,000 Srivari Sevaks helped distribute food and manage queues.

Vigilance and temple personnel coordinated while 2.4 lakh devotees had their darshan over the past three days. Other departments, such as Reception, Kalyanakatta, Health, and Broadcasting, looked after the support operations.
