Tirumala Witnessing Heavy Pilgrim Rush; Queue Lines Stretch to MBC

Tirupati: The hill town of Tirumala is witnessing a heavy pilgrim rush on Sunday, as thousands of devotees continue to arrive following the announcement of Intermediate public examination results in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday. The weekend holiday has further added to the influx, leading to long waiting times and pressure on accommodation facilities.
As of 7.30 AM, queue lines for sarva darshan without slotted sarva darshan (SSD) tokens stretched up to the MBC area, with waiting time estimated between 18 to 20 hours. All compartments remained full, and devotees were seen waiting in extended queues outside the designated holding areas.On Saturday, a total of 72,923 pilgrims had darshan of Lord Venkateswara. The number of devotees who offered tonsure stood at 35,571, while the Hundi collection amounted to Rs 3.33 crore.Accommodation facilities in Tirumala are under severe strain, with most cottages and guesthouses fully occupied. Many devotees were seen resting in open areas and queue complexes due to the unavailability of rooms.
