TTD Explains Why Rs 300 Special Entry Darshan Bookings Often Fail
The TTD said it is not possible for every booking attempt to be successful when demand is exceptionally high. It clarified that a failed booking attempt does not necessarily indicate a technical failure of the entire booking system.
Tirumala: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has clarified that the online booking of Rs 300 Special Entry Darshan tickets faces intense competition due to high demand.
In a press release issued on Saturday, the TTD urged devotees not to believe misinformation regarding its online booking system.
The TTD said it is not possible for every booking attempt to be successful when demand is exceptionally high. It clarified that a failed booking attempt does not necessarily indicate a technical failure of the entire booking system.
According to the TTD, around six lakh people attempt to book tickets simultaneously during the online release. As each person can book tickets for up to four family members, so the demand could reach 24 lakh tickets. However, the available quota is only around 2.69 lakh tickets, resulting in demand that is nearly nine times higher than the available quota.
The TTD said it has deployed modern technological infrastructure, including Google Cloud Platform, load balancing, auto-scaling and distributed architecture, to support its online booking system. A dedicated technical war room is also set up during ticket releases to monitor system performance, traffic levels and other technical parameters.
It further explained that virtual queue mechanisms are used at the backend to manage heavy traffic and prevent excessive loads on the system. The display of a “Slot Unavailable” message does not necessarily indicate a technical failure, the TTD said.
The TTD said its online booking system is integrated with multiple payment gateways, banking networks and UPI platforms. It added that continuous technological improvements are being made in areas such as online booking, database performance, high-load handling, security, anti-bot mechanisms and payment processing based on feedback from devotees.
The TTD urged devotees to rely only on official sources for information and not believe misleading claims regarding the online booking process.
