Tirumala Temple Records Highest Laddu Sales, Hundi Collections and Footfall In May

Nearly 25 lakh devotees visited the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Tirumala in May 2026. This was 2.8 lakh more devotees compared to last year.

Tirupati: The temple town of Tirumala witnessed record-breaking numbers in May this year, driven by peak summer vacation crowds. As per the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the official governing body for administering the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, the temple sold an all-time high of 1,21,35,528 laddus, recorded the highest-ever monthly footfall with 25.46 lakh devotees, and amassed Rs 120.28 crore in hundi collections in May.

Nearly 25 lakh devotees visited the temple, which was 2.8 lakh more devotees compared to May 2025. Temple officials reported that darshans were completed with the help of the AI-Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC), which monitored devotees’ movements. Special measures were taken to continue daily rituals for Lord Venkateswara Swamy without halting the queues.
Around 1.12 crore Anna Prasadams were served to devotees, which is 15.71 lakh more than last year. Hundi collections reached Rs 120 crore, and a record 1.21 crore laddus were sold during the month. Over 14 lakh tonsures were completed, and income from gold and silver dollars, reception services, and other departments also reached record levels.
The Potu department, which manages the sacred kitchens at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), prepared nearly 4.08 lakh laddus in May.
For the Sarva Darshans, around 17 hours and 24 minutes were allotted daily for pilgrims. Officials compared entries from Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) and Special Entry Darshan (SED) tokens with camera footage to monitor the flow of devotees. On May 24, a remarkable 98,058 devotees completed darshans. The numbers crossed the 90,000 mark four times only in May. Similarly, hundi income also reached a record high of 5.06 crore on May 3rd, 2026.
