KAKINADA: A tiger has moved from the forest into plain areas in East Godavari district, prompting forest officials to alert residents.
Officials traced the tiger’s movement near quarry areas beside the Mary Matha Church at Gowripatnam in Devarapalli mandal. They said it had entered the plains from the Rampachodavaram forest area, moved through Vangalapudi in Seethanagaram mandal and reached Devarapalli mandal.
Forest officials advised people not to venture out alone and said efforts were underway to capture the tiger. A team of forest experts from Pune is expected to arrive on Friday to assist in the operation.
