Vijayawada: A tiger was spotted at Tallapudi, Gopalapuram and Polavaram mandals of East Godavari district triggering scare among the people.
Two days ago, it crossed the Godavari from Sitanagaram mandal and wandered through Gootala in Polavaram mandal of Eluru district and the surrounding areas of Bayyavaram, Tupakulagudem and Ragolu in Tallapudi mandal in the district.
Officials detected the movement of tiger through a GPS tracker installed in the quarry area behind the Nirmalagiri Merimata temple in Gouripatnam, Devarapalli mandal. Nearby quarry workers have been alerted not to go to work. About 30 forest officials along with tiger reserve teams are searching for the tiger.( Source : Deccan Chronicle )
