Three-year-old Girl Raped, Killed in Kadapa District

Anantapur: A three-year-old girl was raped and brutally killed by a person at Kambaladinne village in Mylavaram mandal in Kadapa district on Friday. The villagers, however, caught him and handed him over to the police.

Sources said a couple along with their three-year-old daughter from the Armuth Nagar area in Proddatur town went to Kambaladinne in Mylavaram mandal in Kadapa district to attend the marriage of their relatives. When the girl was playing outside the Kalyanamandapam, a person lured the three-year-old girl by offering a banana and took her to a nearby deserted area and raped her and killed her, reportedly pressing her throat in fear as the girl might reveal the entire episode to her parents.

The parents searched for the girl, who went to play outside the marriage venue, but couldn't find the whereabouts of her and searched in surrounding areas with the help of relatives. Shockingly, the dead body of the girl was found in the thorny bushes in a deserted area closer to residence. The villagers caught the rapist and handed him over to police.

Mylavaram police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to hospital for postmortem and detained the rapist.
