Three Held For Matka Gambling In Kadapa

Kadapa police arrested three men for allegedly organising illegal Matka gambling near Yellamma temple and seized ₹93,360, slips and pens.

Police arrested three persons for allegedly organising illegal Matka gambling near the Yellamma temple in Achari Colony here on Monday and seized ₹93,360 in cash, three Matka slips and three ballpoint pens.

Acting on credible information, a team led by Kadapa Taluk sub-inspector M. Mohammed Rafi conducted a raid around 9 am on Monday on the directions of the police station inspector. The suspects were allegedly collecting Matka numbers and cash from the public and conducting illegal gambling.

The arrested persons were identified as Sheikh Khaja Bhanu alias Bhanu, 33, Kashi Vikramachari, 31, and Rajampalli Siva, 34.

Police said the trio was collecting money from people by offering Matka numbers. A case was registered against the accused and further legal action is being taken, police said.
