A daughter’s engagement function in Tadipatri turned tense after supporters of the TD and YSRC allegedly clashed in the presence of Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy and Telangana Congress leader Sriram Reddy. Police intervened and dispersed the groups.

A marriage engagement programme turned tense after supporters of the TD and YSRC clashed in the presence of Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy and Telangana Congress leader Sriram Reddy at Tadipatri on Sunday.
Sajeeva Reddy of Tadipatri had invited leaders and supporters of both the TD and YSRC, including leaders from Telangana, to his daughter’s engagement at a function hall in the town.
Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy, former MLA and municipal chairman J.C. Prabhakar Reddy, Telangana Congress leader Sriram Reddy and local YSRC leader K. Murali, along with their supporters, attended the function.
Tension reportedly broke out when J.C. Prabhakar Reddy and K. Murali came face to face. A heated argument followed between supporters of the two parties, with both sides reportedly objecting to the presence of their political rivals at the function.
The situation turned violent as the two groups clashed, during which a car was damaged. Police rushed to the spot and dispersed the groups.
