Telugu Language Festival In Nellore From August 29

More than 150 Telugu writers and linguists from both Telugu-speaking states and other regions are expected to participate in the events.

Nellore:The birth anniversary of Gidugu Ramamurthy Pantulu, revered as the father of colloquial Telugu, would be marked this year by a Telugu Language Festival.

The Seva Sahiti Cultural Organisation, with the support of the AL Creative and Cultural Commission, would host the festival at Nellore Town Hall from August 29 to 31. It would be by former vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu.

On the first day, seminars would be held on ancient literature, modern literature and children’s literature. The second day would feature discussions on existential literature, youth literature, women’s literature and the Telugu language. On the final day, literary forums would focus on short stories, novels, drama and cinema.

Throughout the three days, the festival would also host poetry gatherings, paper presentations and book releases.

The event is supported by Shanta Vasantha Trust and organised by Seva Sahiti Cultural Organization president Kancherla Subbanayudu, Dr. Konidala Shobha, Bora Bharati Devi and Arasam Nellore honorary president and international poet Dr Perugu Ramakrishna.

The other coordinators are Ayyavaru Sridhar of Pennar Writers’ Association, Pathuru Annapurna of the Nellore Writers’ Association, and representatives of DK Government Women’s College.

Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy said Telugu is not just a medium of communication but a source of pride, affection and a shining reflection of Indian culture.
