Telangana’s Water Rights Non-Negotiable, Says Deputy CM Bhatti

At Visakhapatnam ‘Stop Vote Theft’ campaign, Telangana Deputy CM backs Rahul Gandhi, slams BJP for eroding democracy.

Visakhapatnam: Telangana’s Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has expressed confidence that the Congress party would broaden its presence in Andhra Pradesh.

Telangana, he said, was established to ensure due access to and share of water for its people. “Discussions about surplus water should be postponed until the state’s irrigation projects are completed and fair allocations ensured.”

Bhatti said, “It’s too early to talk about water flowing into the sea. Our projects on the Godavari river are still in progress. Water sharing should be addressed only after both states clarify their respective entitlements. The interests of Telangana must take precedence over political considerations.”

“Once our needs are met, we can consider how to use the surplus water. Constructing downstream projects before addressing upstream requirements would only complicate future allocations.”

Bhatti made these comments during the ‘Stop Vote Stealing’ programme held in Visakhapatnam, where he launched the ‘Stop Vote Theft’ campaign and pasted stickers with this slogan on vehicles of party leaders. At the event, he criticised the BJP and expressed strong support for Rahul Gandhi, asserting, “Rahul Gandhi will become the Prime Minister. It’s only a matter of time.”

“Voting is a fundamental right of every Indian citizen, but the BJP is eroding democratic values. There have been instances where living individuals have been falsely recorded as deceased. The BJP has manipulated votes to secure election victories. Rahul Gandhi has presented compelling evidence of these practices.”

Bhatti exposed how vote theft has misled the public. “Rahul Gandhi is gaining support from both political parties and citizens. It’s time for us to come together to protect our electoral rights and uphold democracy,” he stated.
