Teachers Defend DSC Recruitment Process, Seek End To Row

The rally came amid allegations by YSRC leaders of irregularities in the DSC recruitment process: Reports

KURNOOL: Teachers recently appointed through the District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment process staged a rally in Kurnool on Saturday, urging authorities and political parties not to malign the process with what they termed “false propaganda”.

Hundreds of newly recruited teachers from Kurnool, Kadapa, Anantapur and other Rayalaseema districts gathered near Kondareddy Buruju and took out a rally to the Zilla Parishad office. They asserted that the recruitment had been conducted transparently and urged critics to verify the facts before making allegations.

The rally came amid allegations by YSRC leaders of irregularities in the DSC recruitment process. The teachers said such claims were creating anxiety among thousands of candidates who had secured jobs through the recruitment process.

“We request that no one politicise the issue or target genuine candidates. Thousands of families depend on these jobs,” the teachers said. They urged the government and officials to place the details of the recruitment process in the public domain to resolve the controversy.

Teachers from Kalyandurg constituency said the ‘Chalo Kurnool’ programme was organised to counter what they called “misleading campaigns” and protect the credibility of the recruitment process.

The rally passed off peacefully under police supervision.
