TD’s Hybrid Mahanadu Showcases Large-scale Digital Political Mobilisation

According to party leaders, over 17 lakh cadres participated through a mix of on-ground attendance and digitally connected “Mahanadu Cluster Centres” established across the state.

Vijayawada: The Telugu Desam’s Hybrid Mahanadu-2026 has emerged as a demonstration of technology-enabled political mobilisation, with the party using digital infrastructure to connect cadres across Andhra Pradesh in real time.

The model, conceptualised under the guidance of Nara Lokesh, combined physical participation with a statewide digital network aimed at expanding outreach and enabling organisational engagement, party leaders said.

According to party leaders, over 17 lakh cadres participated through a mix of on-ground attendance and digitally connected “Mahanadu Cluster Centres” established across the state.

Nearly 1,875 digital cluster centres were set up across constituencies and mandals. Instead of travelling to the main venue, cadres participated through local hubs equipped with LED screens, internet connectivity, live streaming systems and audio infrastructure.

The arrangement enabled cadres from rural and semi-urban areas to watch speeches, take part in discussions and respond to resolutions simultaneously. Leaders said the decentralised format improved participation among women, senior citizens and grassroots workers.

The party also introduced a GPS-enabled digital invitation system integrated through the MyTDP platform, which mapped cadres to the nearest cluster centre using geo-location tools.

Officials said the system helped reduce overcrowding, improved crowd distribution and enabled constituency-wise participation tracking and digital attendance records.

A state-level command-and-control centre monitored the event in real time, tracking live feeds from cluster centres, streaming performance, attendance flow and district-wise engagement.

Technical teams were deployed to address connectivity issues and provide support during disruptions. Organisers said the control centre operated on the lines of large-scale digital event management systems.

Booth-level and constituency-level volunteers acted as “digital anchors” to coordinate local operations. They assisted cadres with app onboarding, QR-based attendance, streaming access and technical support, particularly in rural areas.

Organisers said the system used a layered digital architecture combining cloud streaming, GPS mapping, QR authentication and adaptive video streaming.

The MyTDP mobile application served as the primary platform for registration, attendance, live updates, feedback collection and participation in resolutions.

Party leaders said the hybrid model was a more sustainable alternative to large physical gatherings, reducing long-distance travel, congestion and logistical costs.
