TD Threatening Small Traders To Monopolise Local Markets: YSRC

Speaking to the media here on Friday, former MLA Kasu Mahesh Reddy said they would meet the State Election Commissioner and move courts against the undemocratic conduct of the coalition leaders in the blocal body elections.

VIJAYAWADA: The YSRC has pooh-poohed the coalition government for stooping to a new low in the local body elections and exploring new avenues in corruption by threatening the small traders to monopolise local markets.

Speaking to the media here on Friday, former MLA Kasu Mahesh Reddy said they would meet the State Election Commissioner and move courts against the undemocratic conduct of the coalition leaders in the blocal body elections.

Mahesh Reddy said the coalition has now set its eyes on one ward in Dachepalli, which will be going to polls soon, after its unscrupulous attempts in Pulivendula ZPTC election. “The government has deleted about 500 names from the 1,500 member voters list. We will move the court and take up the issue as genuine voters are not allowed to exercise their franchise,” he said.

The former MLA alleged that the Telugu Desam leaders after involving in land, sand, mining gambling and other mafia have now resorted to chicken mafia in Palnadu under the leadership of Gurazala MLA who with the help of police has terrorised local traders to shut shop or face cases and opened their own shops selling chicken with a gross monthly extra of `15 lakh over the market price.

He also alleged that the TD leader was planning to expand this operation throughout the constituency. “The government shoud stop this immediately or else we will take up the issue,” he added.
