Nellore: Telugu Desam (TD) leaders of the erstwhile Nellore district on Sunday reviewed development works, welfare schemes and the party’s organisational strengthening at a meeting chaired by state endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy.
Addressing the media after the meeting at his renovated camp office at Santapeta, Anam said people had placed their trust in the coalition government’s two-year performance and that the party would work harder to retain their confidence by staying connected with them and resolving their problems.
The meeting discussed irrigation and drinking water projects, pending development works, implementation of welfare schemes and strengthening the party organisation at the grassroots level.

He also reviewed pending irrigation and drinking water works and criticised the previous YSRC government over its alleged failure to create employment opportunities and advance major projects in the district.
Gopalapuram MLA and party zonal coordinator Venkataraju said the government was focusing on both development and welfare. He said the recruitment of 16,347 teachers through the Mega DSC would fulfil the aspirations of thousands of unemployed youth.
Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Sarvepalli MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Kavali MLA Dagumati Venkata Krishna Reddy, Kandukur MLA Inturi Nageswara Rao and Udayagiri MLA Kakarlа Suresh, besides other MLAs, MLCs and senior party leaders, attended the meeting.
